This site is built the same way as <a href="https://akitaonrails.com/2025/09/10/meu-novo-blog-como-eu-fiz/"target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fabio Akita’s blog (<a href="https://github.com/akitaonrails/akitaonrails.github.io"target="_blank" rel="noopener">source), with two changes: the helper scripts are Python instead of Ruby, and <a href="https://mise.jdx.dev"target="_blank" rel="noopener">mise controls everything — tool versions, the Python environment and every task.

The stack

<a href="https://gohugo.io"target="_blank" rel="noopener">Hugo turns Markdown into static HTML. No database, no server.

<a href="https://imfing.github.io/hextra/"target="_blank" rel="noopener">Hextra is the theme: dark mode, search (
Ctrl K
), tags, RSS and code highlighting.

<a href="https://www.netlify.com"target="_blank" rel="noopener">Netlify builds and publishes on every push to
main
.

mise pins Hugo, Go and Python, so my laptop, GitHub Actions and Netlify run exactly the same versions.

Three languages

Each post is one folder with one file per language:

Hugo links the translations, so the language switch takes you to the same post.

Hello world! 👋

Every developer writes this line in the first program. So this is my first program for this website.

I’m Carlos Augusto. I live in Michigan and I lead cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, operations and AI at Stefanini’s Global Technology Office, helping companies take AI out of the slides and put it into real operations. Before that I spent more than ten years in São Paulo building payment systems, leading teams and being the last person to call when something broke in production. Even at 3 a.m.

Why a website now? Because I wanted a place that is mine. LinkedIn is good for a quick post, but some ideas need more space than that, and I want to keep everything I write in one place.

What you will find here:

AI in the real world. What works in companies and what doesn’t, with SAP, automation and data.

Building products and teams. From the problem statement to running in production.

Career and mentoring. What I learned, and what I wish someone told me earlier.

Some off-topic too. Jiu-Jitsu, games, investing and a few crazy ideas. Why not? 😂

I write in English, Spanish and Portuguese. Pick your language in the menu. If a translation sounds strange, tell me.

My advice is the same I always give: learn AI, find good partners and go for it. And if you want to talk about any of this, reach out. I’m here 🙃

Welcome!
